When Earth falls under attack from invincible aliens, no military unit in the world is able to beat them. Maj. William Cage (Tom Cruise), an officer who has never seen combat, is assigned to a suicide mission. Killed within moments, Cage finds himself thrown into a time loop, in which he relives the same brutal fight -- and his death -- over and over again. However, Cage's fighting skills improve with each encore, bringing him and a comrade (Emily Blunt) ever closer to defeating the aliens.

Another romance via time loop, but with Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt. I wish this had somehow acknowledged its Japanese source material, but still an inspired interpretation.

Edge of Tomorrow is one of Tom Cruise’s best films of late. The framework and structure is unique and well handled for the most part and is still exciting, even though the final act isn’t quite on the same level.

This is one of those movies I could watch every day. It's just tons of fun and almost a perfect movie. The only thing that could have made it better would have been more personality for the villain. You know, like the Gestapo agent in Raiders of the Lost Ark. But still -- this is a fanfreakentastic movie. Good old Tom Cruise never fails to give a top-notch performance. Emily Blunt has beauty and acting chops. I'd have a pin up on my wall of her if my wife would let me. If you haven't seen it, you're missing out.

Edge of Tomorrow is what happens when Independence Day punches Groundhog Day in the face. Alien invasion, endless time loops, explosions, and somehow it all works. Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt are a killer duo backed by a stellar cast. The action is relentless, the pacing is razor-sharp, and the repeated scenes never get old because each loop changes the game. It's smart, funny, and entertaining. If you're planning to watch Disclosure Day, this is the perfect appetizer. One of those sci-fi action movies that earns every minute of its runtime. Watch it. Then watch it again. Fitting, isn't it?
