When Earth falls under attack from invincible aliens, no military unit in the world is able to beat them. Maj. William Cage (Tom Cruise), an officer who has never seen combat, is assigned to a suicide mission. Killed within moments, Cage finds himself thrown into a time loop, in which he relives the same brutal fight -- and his death -- over and over again. However, Cage's fighting skills improve with each encore, bringing him and a comrade (Emily Blunt) ever closer to defeating the aliens.

This movie has an interesting premise, great actors, moments of tenderness, moments of humor, a lot of heart stopping action, and thought-provoking moments that make you wonder if you would have the mental fortitude to do what he did. Thankfully, this happened to a physically fit guy so he could train without having the benefit of time to bulk up. Would be interesting to see how it would play out with someone who wasn't a soldier or a fit dude. 🤔

This movie is in my personal top 20 of all time for sure. Acting was amazing, visuals amazing, and the writing was amazing. The alien creatures were also really cool, but suffers from the “hive-mind” cliché, but the time travel attribute makes up for it.
