Released Sep 24, 2021 1 hr. 39 min. Drama Mystery & Thriller List
63% 8 Reviews Tomatometer It's not exactly what the Minister of Justice wants to be doing: watching an endless stream of video footage. But a former police officer is very insistent. Together, all this footage -- from hidden cameras, phone taps, Skype sessions and security surveillance -- can tell an interesting story. The focus here is on an obscure bookstore where a group of environmental activists are meeting in secret. Idealistic Winnie and her boyfriend Conrad want to disrupt the G20, but aren't aware that they are possibly being lured into a trap. jan J dull, boring and extremely disappointing! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Lone Wolf (2021) is an Australian found footage film. Advertised as near future thriller....it is not either of those things, it is a collection of security and home camera footage shops (mostly of a book store) that tell the very slow tale of a crime gone wrong. The plot and characters are too simple to engross the viewer, coupled with the cheap look of the film it will likely bore most viewers. Hugo Weaving Appears only in brief segments in the movie (maybe 5 minutes worth) that serve mostly as the framing device for the "footage". Found footage movies only work in horror movies (and to a lesser extent documentaries). In this one, it just makes the film seem like a failed experiment by a film student. 1 1/2 stars out of 5. Not to be confused with the other Lone Wolf (2021) about a "furry" axe murdering people. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Wendy Ide Screen International A deliberately unpolished political thriller and a novel spin on the found footage approach. Feb 3, 2021 Full Review Carmen Paddock TAKE ONE Magazine The cuts between surveillance and home video documentation and a more traditional style in the framing story do much of the satisfying “detective work” for the audience... However, as seedy genre entertainment, LONE WOLF hits the mark Nov 30, 2023 Full Review Erin Free FILMINK (Australia) … a keenly intelligent and deeply complex emotional thriller that will spark conversations aplenty. Rated: 18/20 Mar 9, 2023 Full Review Rachael Mead InDaily Keeping the audience at a distance, making us watch powerlessly as Winnie is swept towards tragedy, Ogilvie’s writing and direction do more than simply spin this film towards a devastating climax... Feb 17, 2023 Full Review Kat Halstead Common Sense Media It's a film of style over substance, which offers an eventual payoff (however predictable) for those willing to see it through, but drags its feet longer than necessary in the process. Rated: 2/5 Sep 22, 2021 Full Review Roger Moore Movie Nation Manages to be intriguing but seriously dull. Rated: 1.5/4 Sep 21, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews
