Audience Member This documentary chronicles the journey of an adult that makes the foray into the world of martial arts training. David Liban, a professor, takes up Karate training with the goal of becoming a Black Belt by 50. There are some very strong and interesting moments. The film is authentic, for sure. I found it to be an honest look at his journey, including the struggles and difficulties associated with his physical limitations. I think the concept was great. I think the authenticity was great. I get that it is a low budget documentary so the filmmaking was passable. The downside to the movie is that it is too long. It includes too much detail on some issues, and tends to be somewhat boring. While the story transcends martial arts enthusiasts, the film, sadly, does not.
