Critics Consensus

Lost in Paris is whimsical to a fault, but its fanciful light-heartedness earns the audience's indulgence with charming performances and an infectious absurdity.

David Stratton The Australian For those who seek it out - and its release seems to be very limited - it should provide a welcome antidote to the more strident forms of humour that pass for screen comedy today. Rated: 3/5 May 25, 2018 Full Review Kevin Maher Times (UK) ... the story of a Canadian naif (Gordon) who is stranded in Paris and falls for a local Chaplinesque tramp (Abel) is told with such broad strokes (lots of double-takes and achingly obvious pratfalls) that it eventually becomes wearisome. Rated: 2/5 Nov 29, 2017 Full Review Wendy Ide Observer (UK) Unfortunately, for all the photogenic Parisian trappings, the riverside tango and Eiffel Tower slapstick, the laborious jollity of the latest film from Fiona Gordon and Dominique Abel never takes flight. Rated: 2/5 Nov 26, 2017 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review A harmless and inconsequential delight. Rated: 2.5/4 Mar 17, 2022 Full Review Leigh Monson Substream Magazine To want more from Lost in Paris might be to miss the point. This is a vaudeville genre revival, without any attendant frills or pretentions about what it is. Rated: 3/5 Sep 24, 2020 Full Review Steven Prokopy Third Coast Review Every moment and sequence in Lost In Paris is beautifully staged and choreographed perfectly for maximum laughs and even inspired, heartfelt drama. Willian F The film presents an audacious proposal and irreverent humor, characteristics that may appeal to those seeking something unconventional. Although the cast and characters lack a stronger emotional connection, with some of them feeling forced, the exaggeration and absurd situations in the film manage to elicit a few laughs. In short, it is an indie production that mixes interesting moments with others that lack greater depth, resulting in an experience that fluctuates between fun and disorderly. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/10/24 Full Review Mimi F This is a gem of a film, hilarious and heartwarming and filled with brilliant choreography and gorgeous color-drenched cinematography. I've seen all of Fiona Gorden and Dominque Abel's films and you must too! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/30/24 Full Review Brian D I cannot believe this has a 68% approval rating. Bad from minute 1 to minute 21. Holy moly. Just bad. Bad script. Bad acting. Not interesting. Nothing. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 05/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Whimsical, yes. A nice break from the banal Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member A unique and wonderful film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review annie l I LOVE THIS MOVIE!
