... the story of a Canadian naif (Gordon) who is stranded in Paris and falls for a local Chaplinesque tramp (Abel) is told with such broad strokes (lots of double-takes and achingly obvious pratfalls) that it eventually becomes wearisome.

The film presents an audacious proposal and irreverent humor, characteristics that may appeal to those seeking something unconventional. Although the cast and characters lack a stronger emotional connection, with some of them feeling forced, the exaggeration and absurd situations in the film manage to elicit a few laughs. In short, it is an indie production that mixes interesting moments with others that lack greater depth, resulting in an experience that fluctuates between fun and disorderly.

This is a gem of a film, hilarious and heartwarming and filled with brilliant choreography and gorgeous color-drenched cinematography. I've seen all of Fiona Gorden and Dominque Abel's films and you must too!
