Diane arrives at the shoe factory looking for a job. She meets the boss, nails the interview and gets hired on the spot, immediately joining a small team of co-workers led by a helpful Texan named Fox. She's great at her job but before her first day of work ends, the factory gets shut down, the boss is in big trouble and all the employees are suddenly unemployed. Because in this world, manufacturing is prohibited and it's illegal to employ or be employed. That means no jobs. Unfortunately, Diane and Fox love to work. Together, Diane and Fox seek employment and in the process, fall in love. But balancing love and work is easier said than done.

Alexandra Heller-Nicholas AWFJ.org Painted in bold, charming and unapologetic strokes, most films made with bigger budgets and bigger names could never dream of achieving what this confident, strange little treasure of a film does. Jan 25, 2024 Full Review Katelyn Nelson Daily Grindhouse The consistently light-hearted and rebellious tone...keeps the film from being entirely bleak, but they are positioned in such a way that they're pulling the societal curtain to the side to reveal a darkness we can't seem to completely escape. Jul 14, 2024 Full Review Lee Jutton Film Inquiry With his fourth feature film, Ohs has proven himself a master of creating unique screen stories with remarkably little on-screen frills—not to mention, refreshing short running times. Mar 5, 2024 Full Review Christopher Cross Asynchronous Media A dystopian vision of utopian hopes, Ohs presents a clever, humorous thought exercise that is playful just as much as it is relevant. Rated: 4/5 Feb 9, 2024 Full Review Stephen Saito Moveable Fest At a breezy 74 minutes, the film is a welcome diversion, which by its own standards is what anyone should want out of life. Feb 7, 2024 Full Review Nadine Whitney InSession Film Ohs’ breezy and glorious romantic comedy is a trojan horse. He doesn’t want the audience working too hard to enjoy the film, but he has put in the work to make you love it . Rated: A- Jan 31, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews
