See more 01/23/2011 Old HK-cinema hand Alfred Cheung follows the money trail to mainland China blazed by numerous other Hong Kong directors for this instantly forgettable waste of effort. Starring Xou Xun-lookalike/sent-down girl Li Xiao-Lu and Mike He sporting Ekin Chen's haircut, Love At Seventh Sight starts out as any average teen romance, adding a little bit of terminal illness-drama into the mix. After a couple of reels of dull direction and lifeless performances from the actors, the movie suddenly takes a different turn, and the old Alfred Cheung-comedy starts to kick in. However, being completely mislead in the movie's first half, chances are the audience won't fully embrace Cheung's shenanigans in the latter part, which, by the way, soon yields to saccharine-fuelled romance before the end anyway. Fuck this movie, I'm re-watching Let's Make Laugh instead.
