Yash B "Love Exposure" is one of the most strange films I have ever witnessed. It is a 4-hour journey that never goes where I expected it to. The movie is definitely one of the most original stories I have seen and I do think it deserves props for its creativity. It is bizarre and features a variety of genre styles that keep it pretty entertaining. That being said, I do feel this is a movie that feels long, particularly near the end. The movie is split into chapters and I would say it is at its most entertaining in the first half, but I still mostly found something to like in each section. Overall, it is an undeniably strange movie, but it is one that makes an honest effort to be different and is worth experiencing as a result. Chris Chang Film Comment Magazine Clocking in at 237 minutes, Sino's film possesses a rambling, free-associative structure. Jun 17, 2013 Full Review Jeannette Catsoulis New York Times Exhibiting astonishing dexterity, Mr. Sono shapes all this trauma into a narrative that's completely coherent and surprisingly touching, never more so than in Yu's struggle toward sexual maturity. Rated: 4/5 Sep 1, 2011 Full Review Mark Jenkins NPR It's a campy rampage that runs a few minutes shy of four hours, dooming what otherwise would likely be a bright future as a midnight movie. Sep 1, 2011 Full Review Tim Brayton Alternate Ending A film about being overwhelmed, as much as it's an overwhelming film, and it's the most excitingly exhausting kind of too much. Rated: 4/5 Apr 5, 2020 Full Review Donald J. Levit ReelTalk Movie Reviews Manga-indebted but without lens trickery, this is exhilarating cinema experience. Dec 1, 2011 Full Review Sara Maria Vizcarrondo Boxoffice Magazine This four-hour opus about the fury of love and the love of fury is ritually fascinating, often excessive and, with a caution the film wields like a blade, achingly poignant.
