Tim Cogshell FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) This film is effective -- but this medicine? That's shady, and I hope this isn't something that will validate the notion of this treatment because that hasn't been tested at all. Feb 11, 2025 Full Review Monica Castillo RogerEbert.com Although “Lucca’s World” features an unorthodox plot twist for these kinds of movies, the film itself is pretty unsurprising. Rated: 2.5/4 Feb 3, 2025 Full Review Jennifer Green Common Sense Media This sensitively-portrayed, true story-inspired tale of a family's determination to help their child with disabilities packs an emotional punch. Feb 12, 2025 Full Review John Serba Decider Lucca’s World meets the median standard, with Mori’s performance elevating the proceedings a bit and the choppy flow, which pushes the movie into the realm of detail-needy shorthand in the third act, brings it down a little. Feb 3, 2025 Full Review Daniel Hart Ready Steady Cut Lucca’s World delivers a raw and emotional true-story portrayal of parenting a child with cerebral palsy, anchored by powerful performances despite its unremarkable storytelling. Rated: 3/5 Jan 31, 2025 Full Review Lía Rueda EscribiendoCine Motivation and hope are the pillars of this cinematic gem that raises awareness about childhood disabilities and medical advances that seek to improve lives.[Full review in Spanish] Rated: 6/10 Jan 28, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Babak D Very impressive. The director did well , you feel yourself as part of family and worried about Lucca. Characters are becoming type and believable Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/16/25 Full Review Carlos Samuel E Excelente película Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/12/25 Full Review Tom H Hands down the most evil movie I've ever seen. It heavily promotes a therapy for cerebral palsy, cancer and other remedies in India/Mexico that, even after 6 years, have their *own research lab* producing statements after years of research, there is no proof that the treatment works at all. In fact, shortly before this horrendous film was released, in December 2024, the company itself stated that there was no evidence it worked in their own study. The timing of the movie is incredibly suspicious, and it stinks of a scam. Simultaneously releasing this promotional media film when their own internal trial demonstrated no proof it works at all, is evil. As a GP in the field with lots of kids in my care with cerebral palsy, we know intensive treatments with occupational therapy and many other treatments can have incredibly powerful results. Encouraging parents and carers to abandon great care for their children to use this clearly ineffective treatment is beyond cruel. It is theft, from the child, of a better future. The concept that this ridiculous machine can, in the creators own articles, magically destroy bad brain tissue in cerebral palsy, can also simulateously create new healthy tissue in cerebral palsy, and magically kill cancer cells is just like listening to a palm reader tell you they can cure cancer with a stack of cards. Great intent from the author, but tragic to have so easily encouraged hundreds of families to waste their life savings in this way. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/10/25 Full Review SkyRo P The film Lucca’s World centers around a child with disabilities who is born unable to walk, talk, or interact with his family. It follows the journey of his parents, who travel both across the country and internationally in search of treatments that could help their son improve his condition and potentially gain the ability to speak and support himself. The narrative takes the family to India, where they discover a special treatment that begins to show promise for their son. These moments of hope and progress are heartwarming, but overall, the film lacks a significant element of surprise or creative storytelling. While the premise is touching, the plot unfolds in a predictable manner that mirrors the typical experiences one might expect from a family facing such challenges. The film does not present substantial highs and lows; any conflicts that do arise feel minor and lack the dramatic weight needed to engage the audience fully. Ultimately, Lucca’s World misses an opportunity to infuse the story with the emotional highs that resonate deeply with viewers. It could benefit from a more innovative approach to its storytelling, allowing for moments of profound triumph that would elevate the narrative and leave a lasting impact. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/25 Full Review Eye C This one was beautiful and emotional, I came for Barbara and stayed for Lucca.Lucca is born with severe cerebral palsy, and from that moment on, his parents will do everything in their power to help Lucca improve, even taking him to India for a new treatment that promises to improve the synaptic connections in his neurons. The film is fully supported by Barbara Mori, but everyone does a great job, especially Julián Tello as Lucca, what a way to show the evolution of the character.A film full of emotion that shows the resilience of a mother, the struggle of a father and the companionship of a brother. Highly recommended. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/25 Full Review Lindsay D Loved it! Heartfelt and inspiring! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/02/25 Full Review Read all reviews
