Audience Member Great singing! If you love operas. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member There is no plot, and the music is bottom-of-the-barrel bad. I've heard that there was some good music that came from the 1940s, but I've never personally heard it. It certainly is not in this mishmash of a film. Jane Powell is aggravating, but perhaps that is because you can't get into the movie because she sings one dud after another. MGM was abysmal at selecting songs that were enjoyable. When the did, the songs were selected by outside sources. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Another Joe Pasternak-produced MGM Technicolor frolic, adeptly mixing pop and classical music; nothing weighty or distinguished about it, but fun if taken lightly. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review ashley h Luxury Liner is a decent film. It is about a young girl stows away aboard a luxury liner which is full of musical stars. George Brent and Jane Powell give good performances. The screenplay is a little slow in places. Richard Whorf did an alright job directing this movie. I liked this motion picture because of the music and romance. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member ALL STAR CAST RAISES THIS SO SO MATERIAL ABOVE THE 2 STAR TO A 3!
