Audience Member Overall, while Making Babies isn't a film for everyone, I feel it will be enjoyed by audience members who can relate to trying to fall pregnant and the effort it can take to see the significant miracle of a baby. There are some jokes to be had, but some jokes don't always land a laugh either. The film has some heart which was also surprising to see. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/11/23 Full Review Audience Member While I generally enjoy both the leads, and they actually had great chemistry, the movie isn't anything special. It's a sterotypical story about two people trying really hard to get pregnant RIGHT NOW for about a year, and throwing away every cent they have on it. It's filled with sterotypical man/woman stuff concerning babies. It feels like its supposed to be so its more relateable to the the audience, but skews the opposite way for me, it seems so stereotypical its unreal. It all ends up to deliver the moral of the story in the last 10-15 minutes of the movie. I enjoyed it, I think you might enjoy it, but I also think you'll enjoy so many other things more. I'd watch it again, maybe, one day, eventually, but probably because someone else wants to finally see it. Katie Walsh Los Angeles Times Making Babies offers exactly what you might expect for a light dramedy on the issue of infertility and IVF, and that isn't necessarily a good thing. Apr 1, 2019 Full Review Frank Scheck Hollywood Reporter Making Babies demonstrates the need for creative contraception. Mar 28, 2019 Full Review Douglas Davidson Elements of Madness In his debut feature film, writer/director Josh F. Huber tackles the issues of infertility head-on in the dramedy Making Babies, making sure to retain the humor and heart present in our everyday struggles. Rated: 4/5 Jun 25, 2019 Full Review Alan Ng Film Threat Performances alone cannot save an uninspired script. The story is not bad per se, but it's not original or inspired and therefore Making Babies wallows in mediocrity. Rated: 5/10 Apr 4, 2019 Full Review Peter Sobczynski eFilmCritic.com A major misfire that is one of the least funny comedies to come around in many a moon. Mar 29, 2019 Full Review Jeffrey Lyles Lyles' Movie Files Takes a largely taboo topic and finds the fun in it with charming performances and a willingness to share a communal experience with its target audience.
