See more Elvis D 07/18/2023 The Mangler es otra de las diversas adaptaciones que se han hecho de Stephen King para explotar su popularidad como escritor. Esta vez Stephen King no es el único icono del terror detrás de esta película, ya que tiene a Tobe Hooper a cargo de la dirección y al famoso Robert Englund en el papel antagónico. La trama de la película es fiel al relato original, pero lo expande más, dando incluso una conclusión que no se pudo ver en el texto original. La película es bastante decente en cuanto a producción y tiene un guion aceptable a pesar de generar algunas dudas. Obviamente, la idea de una máquina lavadora poseída es bastante tonta, pero la película logra plasmar esa idea con mucha seriedad. El héroe de esta historia es Ted Levine haciendo de un detective duro que es típico de las historias policiales, pero Ted le da un cierto encanto al personaje. Robert Englund sabe como interpretar a un antagonista y en este caso tenemos a un anciano oscuro y sombrío a quien Robert sabe encarnar bastante bien. La máquina no se siente del todo amenazante hasta que alguien cae en sus garras y a pesar del dudoso CGI, logran convertirla en un monstruo siniestro al momento del tercer acto. Aunque llegue a sentirse como otra simple adaptación genérica de los escritos de King, The Mangle es una película y adaptación decente y respetable. I must've blocked that out. It's pretty bad all around, but it's so absurd and Englund hams it up soo much that it can be pretty entertaining. See more Read all reviews
