Noel Murray AV Club It's too often a routine '80s genre piece, straight down to the synthesizer score, over-lit night scenes, and bandana-sporting street punks. Rated: B- Oct 5, 2018 Full Review Eric Henderson Slant Magazine Its execution sits perched well above its scummy aim, and the end result is that you feel guilty for wishing for something more perverted. Rated: 2/4 Dec 6, 2006 Full Review Nick Schager Lessons of Darkness A sturdy slasher flick that laces its splattery slayings with some anti-establishment undertones. Rated: B Jun 15, 2006 Full Review Kevin Carr Fat Guys at the Movies Dripping in 80s exploitation tropes, this gritty crime thriller revels in its era with enough horror elements to make it unique. Rated: 2.5/4 Mar 9, 2024 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy A fairly involving "B" programmer. Rated: 2.5/4 Dec 26, 2021 Full Review Ed Travis Hollywood Jesus It doesn't get more royal on the B-list than Bruce Campbell and Tom Atkins. These guys are geek legends, and they deliver here in Maniac Cop. Apr 1, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews

Liam D An mixture of exploitation, crime thriller and slasher to make an interesting action horror flick with B movie charm Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/03/24 Full Review Sheldon A One of my favorite horror films and movies of all time. Everything clicked! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/04/24 Full Review Damien T Here's one of my favourite 80s Horrors! Maniac Cop is a pretty good one which I've seen, and I like Bill Lustig's direction, the cinematography, the acting performances of Tom Atkins, Bruce Campbell and Robert Z'Dar, the score and the plot. The screenplay was not bad, and I reccommend this film to horror fans! I'll give this film 4.5 out of 5 stars and an "A" grade. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/22/23 Full Review Sahooon C I was so close to giving it a 7/10. I think if you want a good slasher watch Scream but if you're after a Friday 13th style then this will be a good option. Compared to some horrors/slashers this film is really good. I recently put myself thgrough the Friday 13th franchise and after 1 you have seen them all just a new cast and a slightly different location (until he goes to NY but that film is still bad) but this was much more enjoyable than those films. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/06/23 Full Review william d Great movie that I would recommend to everyone. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/18/23 Full Review Allen R I don't think this movie knew what it wanted to be. Sometimes they take themselves too seriously, and other times it gets campy. Laying into the campy throughout would have been a lot more fun. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/05/23 Full Review Read all reviews
