acsdoug D An understated but still rather zany comedy examining working life. I was chuckling throughout. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/14/24 Full Review Audience Member A nice satire about modern Japanese "Salary-men." Comical story, quick tempo, and stylish images are worth to watch, but it's a little bit too pessimistic for me. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member i like it. just reflected the truth of difficult to find a job even for a university graduate. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member More and more university graduates did not result in quality of life, but result in jobless society. The director, Ichikawa, chose this topic in 1957. But it is still applied today. The first session that a crowd of graduates standing in the rain is very impressive. Graduation means a new life but the new life may not be better. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Another movie that make you scratch your head. Basically a satire on corporate culture in the vein of Il Posto. Things get stranger when the main character learns that his mother is going insane, by the end you have no idea who's the insane person, whether it's mom or dad, or the son.
