Steve D Way too much dark not enough comedy. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 09/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Lisa Kruger directs a female-driven story of friendship, family, and unexpected love A young and upcoming Scarlett Johansson and Alaska Palladino star as Amanda and Laurel They're two foster sisters on the run since their mother is deceased Laurel then becomes pregnant with both of them unsure how to handle themselves In comes Mary Kay Place as Elaine, a store clerk they unintentionally kidnap Somewhere down the line maybe these three women actually need one another But is their independence more important or asking for help needing to get by? The score is gentle, both actresses are genuine, and the low-budget small story approach is welcome Acts as a fable that might be short on emotional weight but still charming and warm-hearted Very light viewing but the players carry it Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/27/23 Full Review TJ F It's amazing to see how talented Scar Jo was already at a young age Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/11/23 Full Review Rob Z It's cute and quirky Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/10/23 Full Review Katie Z Love this with young scar-jo! Jonathan Rosenbaum Chicago Reader A rather tedious kidnapping movie by writer-director Lisa Krueger, despite the novelty of the kidnappers...
