Dennis Harvey Variety Anyone not already attuned to the scribe’s print oeuvre is unlikely to want more of what they’ll get here, as its degree of vicarious friskiness doesn’t even rise to the level of an old “Red Shoes Diaries” re-run. Jan 24, 2025 Full Review Carla Hay Culture Mix This cliché-plagued drama about a bad boy/good girl romance is mainly for people who like cheesy young adult novels or are fans of the After movie series. The cast members are good-looking, but some of the acting and dialogue are too horrible to take. Jan 23, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

patti c This movie was sooooo good! I need the second one asap! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/30/25 Full Review Sandra Absolutely loved it!! The cast were a perfect fit. Wish I could watch it over and over. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/29/25 Full Review Erica Humorous, emotional, and entertaining! The cast did an amazing job bringing these characters to life! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/25/25 Full Review Lori I read to book and was excited to see how they choose to bring it to life on screen. I have never been so disappointed in a book-based movie before. I realize they can't keep everything the same but they completely changed it. The one positive note was I absolutely agree in their actor choice for Rome. I just wish he could have been the Rome in the book. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/25 Full Review Jessica P While I completely understand that not everything from the book can be included in the adaption, I was extremely disappointed. A lot of the book was centered around Remy’s (Rules Twin brother who died) with Rule and Shaw and how it affected them especially regarding Rule’s complicated family dynamic. That’s something that shouldn’t have been hard to include since it’s the center of the story but they decided to mention him twice and give us nothing regarding that. They added in scenes that did not contribute to what the book was about and weren’t even in the book. They could have easily added in more scenes from the book since they did that. The kicker is taking Rowdy who has his own book in the series and making Gabe not look like a abusive stalker which was a big part of the book for Shaw’s character arc. They made Rule less of a baddass and as a person watching the movie you couldn’t understand why Rule had reservations about dating Shaw because they did not include Remy. The movie was rushed and you’re left wondering how did we get to where we were. It could have easily been 2 hours long and I’m left wondering if the director even read the book. I truly don’t think this book was done justice because these points aren’t minor to a reader who loves the books, they’re the integrity of the book and what makes the book what it is. The one good thing was the casting which is why I’m rating it a 1 and not a 0 but even then that’s being generous. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/25/25 Full Review Erin The movie was good and the acting was good but why did they have to change the whole plot of the movie from the plot of the book?
