Andrea Chase Killer Movie Reviews This genuinely feel-good film delivers its sly message about the joys of enlightenment without thumping a religious tome of any sort, unless you count “The Little Prince,” of course, and some people do Rated: 4/5 Oct 4, 2015 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member This is now an iconic movie in the history of Iranian cinema. Almost everyone has watched and enjoyed it. It has addressed social and religious challenges in the most subtle way, and chosen comedy as the best form to present it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member مارمولک ساخته کمال تبریزی فیلمی بود که تونست تابو شوخی با روحانیت رو بشکنه و احتمالا پر بیننده ترین فیلم تاریخ سینمای ایران هست البته نه روی پرده سینما بلکه به صورت قاچاقی و روی سی دی تمام ایرانی ها بارها دیدنش و لحظات ناب و حال خوبی رو با دیدنش تجربه کردن 😁 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member irreverent and quite hilarious. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member The Lizard is about a man named Reza, who has the moniker ?lizard? because of his talent to climb walls and get into trouble. To escape his life sentence from prison he disguises himself as a Mullah. On his way to the border he is mistaken for a Mullah that was supposed to arrive on the same train. When he tries to ditch his disguise and escape across the border he finds himself delayed. On the surface the movie is a comedy portraying the ridiculous circumstances surrounding Reza. Pealing back the layers reveals a much deeper story that begins to justify why the movie was banned in Iran. The movie is a social and political commentary about Iranian culture and the government. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member This film passed regulations in Iran and was shown in theatres for only one day before getting banned. The message may be hidden to most but until you understand why this film was banned then you will appreciate it for its genius and courage. The lizard in the title refers to two things, one because the guy can climb walls as a skill but the other is the derogatory labeling of the mullahs. This film is the first film to take a piss take at the current theocracy; though it got banned after they actually saw the film Definitely one of the greats to come out of Iran. A hilarious comedy with a twist. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member no comment....shahkare sinamaye iran Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
