Candice Frederick Reel Talk Online The comedic timing, coupled with his ability to maintain the authenticity of the characters, is worthy of praise. The Avengers delivers a popcorn feast that's the perfect summer kickoff. Rated: B+ Sep 8, 2017 Full Review David Stratton At the Movies (Australia) Downey's Stark/Iron Man steals the show because the actor is capable of making the tritest dialogue sound wonderfully witty, but the CGI effects are amazing and, despite its length, the film is very enjoyable. Rated: 3.5/5 Jul 7, 2015 Full Review Deborah Ross The Spectator This will be loved by genre fans, when all is said and done/ But at two hours forty, you may find it numbs your bum/ Seriously, more attention to character could have made it a lot more fun/ And now I have said all that, I believe my poem is done. Aug 24, 2014 Full Review Patrick Cavanaugh The Wolfman Cometh Seems like a miracle that something like this could be pulled off, fully amplifying and improving upon everything each solo MCU movie accomplished before it, while also standing on its own with the team dynamics. Rated: 5/5 Sep 24, 2023 Full Review Sean Axmaker Stream on Demand You wouldn’t accuse 'The Avengers' of being good drama, but the sprawling, splashy spectacle and its much-much-much-larger-than-life heroes makes for a genuine comic book epic for the big screen. Jan 7, 2023 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review After four years’ worth of building piece by piece against mounting expectations, Marvel and Whedon have managed to satisfy the majority of fan expectations, and in some ways, even exceeded them. Hughes S just amazing this movie is! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/28/22 Full Review michael e The first in a series, this film speaks to every Marvel fan and our sense of nostalgia. The cast is absolutely stacked with acting by Scarlett Johannson, Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Jackson and Tom Hiddleston bringing the superheroes and villains to life as the Avengers save Earth from the sociopath with the evil smile, Loki, who intends to rule over humanity. While the acting is near perfect, the dialogue and plot are lacking in development. First, there were too many fight scenes to afford any solid character development.. We didn't learn much about Loki's background, other than a few interactions with other villains from his world (Granted, that's partly how MCU chronology works). In fact, viewers didn't learn a lot about any of the characters for that matter. There were no interactions between them that would have afforded a comprehensive arc within the film. At the end of this film, my last thoughts were "If the cast had time to get creative with their scripts and bounce off one another, this could have been one of the best superhero / villain films of all time." Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/22/25 Full Review Henry S The spectacular action, amazing character interactions, and iconic moments make this an incredible superhero movie. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/25 Full Review James E Given the colossal task of pulling all of these films and characters together for the first time, this seemed doomed to fail, but it was great and flowed together seamlessly. Most characters grow in their arcs together and are able to play off of each other well. It’s aged a little bit, and some characters aren’t given much to do, but still a worthwhile movie. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/16/25 Full Review tiago m Maravilhoso, está no topo das adaptações de heróis. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/12/25 Full Review Mate P The Avengers is the most enjoyable time I've spent with the MCU so far. It operates with established characters, but they still have character arcs and those are surprisingly very satisfying. Obviously I kind of knew what's going to happen, but that didn't take away a bit from the enjoyment. There were a few moments where I was shocked or didn't know how the story would move forward. The dialogues sometimes feel a little out of place, but are mostly good. The visual effects have never been this good in the MCU so far, I loved that. I also love the huge cast, although I was sad to see one of my favourite actors, Stellan Skarsgård turned into a villain, alongside Jeremy Renner. The cinematography is great, but the movie is a little too long, so I'm not the biggest fan of the editing. The acting performances are good for a superhero movie. The Avengers is an amazing culmination to the first phase of the MCU. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/10/25 Full Review Read all reviews
