Alexander S Jul 9 Max Payne suffered from poor direction, resulting in laughable acting and a narrative structure thatwas also convoluted, despite the decent cinematography. However, these shortcomings were compounded by the miscasting of Mark Wahlberg, who failed to embody the essence and presence of Max Payne as depicted in the games.
