Gareth O Having been to see Meat Loaf perform here in Ireland many times, which the great man himself cited as his favourite place to play, I had high expectations from this film as I had also seen numerous interviews with Meat as well. I can safely say, every expectation was met in this incredible Bio-Pic. Brown completely nails the role of Meat Loaf, voice and all! Throne is also unreal as Steinman. DeDee is great as Leslie & Meat's daughters (all ages) are near doubles for the real Pearl & Amanda. Meat's parents & other parts are spot on perfect. 20 odd years on I am still amazed they got this one perfect! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/14/24 Full Review Steve D Did you know Meat Loaf is fat? That is about all the movie knows about him. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member I was surprised to learn that Meatloaf was in both Hair and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. One of the creators of Rocky Horror ended up in Meatloaf's band. This documentary was not very good. While it gave a whirlwind account of how Meatloaf had a troubled childhood, which can only be gathered from the fact that everything in the documentary about his childhood is troubling, the movie doesn't adequately explain how meatloaf made decided on a career in music. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Was a very humbling tribute to a true hero of rock , loved it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Great TV Movie Which Charters Rock Legend Meat Loaf's Life From His Childhood To The Success Of Bat Out Of Hell II: Back Into Hell. W. Earl Brown's Performance Is Great, & He Does Look Very Similar To The Legend In Some Scenes. Great Story, Interesting Script, One Very Decent TV Movie. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review ashley h This is an enjoyable film for Meat Loaf fans. Song clips, in some cases entire songs are included from both Bat Out of Hell I & II as well as a film clip from Rocky Horror. I was surprised how accurate this movie is. Most biographical movies are time-warped but this one sticks to the truth in almost all cases. If you enjoy Meat Loaf music, I recommend this movie.
