With shoddy FX, acting and directing. This isn't so bad it's good. It's just so bad it's terrible.

Donna V The worst acting ever! Overall a terrible movie, and I usually enjoy "bad movies" because they're unintentionally funny. There's a scene where Gibson is piloting a submersible and you see her hands on the joystick. They show a close up of her punching some buttons on the control panel and it's different hands! Her hands on the joystick had plain nails but punching the buttons she had purple nails! No awards for editing! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/07/24 Full Review Chris M The CGI is slightly better than anything from the Asylum. Plus, there really isn't anything in the movie that earns the R rating. Not even multiple F bombs. But it is dumb fun. Exciting with a great cast and not horrible CGI. It has a so bad it's good quality. A good choice for a bad movie night. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/15/23 Full Review R P I had high hopes for Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus. Come on, it has Lorenzo Lamas in it. You know it should be cheesy. Plus, there's like three sequels to it. But it was just okay and at some points kind of boring. Especially when the shark took out the airplane at 10 000 feet. The best thing was the golden gate getting chomped. If you like corny B movies, then you can't go wrong with it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Greatest movie ever made. I really like the part where mega shark jumps out of the water and eats a plane. Kim Newman Empire Magazine Daft, plain daft. With a few daft but spectacular stunts. Rated: 2/5 Aug 7, 2009 Full Review Wendy Ide Times (UK) This film is bad on every level. In fact, it's bad on levels hitherto unexplored by mainstream cinema. Rated: 2/5 Aug 7, 2009 Full Review Catherine Shoard Guardian What a drag. This grabby-titled disaster flick - splashing across the pond on a tidal wave of chuckly publicity - is a damp squib. Rated: 1/5 Aug 7, 2009 Full Review Tim Brayton Alternate Ending It's beyond incompetent, and it probably also sounds like it's a hoot and a holler as a result. This is not the case. Rated: 0.5/5 Aug 30, 2018 Full Review Mike Edwards What Culture Mega Swindle vs Giant Rip-Off Rated: 0.5/5 Mar 1, 2011 Full Review Steve Biodrowski Cinefantastique If ever there was a film that seemed designed with Mystery Science Theater 3000 in mind, this is it.
