Audience Member First class BBC drama and a must watch for anyone growing up in the 80's Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member So great, we named a band after a quote from it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member A little great movie about magical times. Times before people were talked into thinking that any creative idea has to come from Silicon Valley. That "Sinclair Research Ltd." screen is engraved in my memory forever. I had so much fun watching this movie! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Film o vzniku mikropo?íta?? pro domácnostiv 80. letech, hlavn? o boji Sinclaira a Acornu. P?kná dobová kamera. Úpln? na m? dýchlo to retro. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member I'm not a fan of computers only when it's about video games and movies or even TV shows you can now watch via online thanks to the internet. But when you go behind everything at all and see the creators of the internet and how all started you just think for a moment and say to yourself: Thanks Europe, thanks England, France and many others for making the 80's and 90's so awesome with your creation! And yes, Japan for the amazing anime and video games I get to play everyday and some companies I will not mention since they are from a country that still thinks is better than the world and dosn't know Nature is better than them since she controls the world :) Plot: Two companies are in battle to see which computer it's better. Is the typical fight of two buddies with jealousy of who's better than who. Typical really, and still today in 2012 we see companies doing low prices to see who buy's it first from the audience. Fans remember something: Merchandice is triki and by that I mean it steals from you money if you don't read the instructions properly. Stars? Why not? I will say yes. Acting: The cast did very well done doing the ones behind that ZX81 and Acorn computers and those games (what a laugh to todays games, oh well, evolution maybe). Sam Phillips was incredible as Sinclair's master mind, and Martin Freeman did also a great job as the Acorn master mind who was by what I understood the one who learn everything from his 'teacher' Sinclair. Defenetly typical hehe. Stars? Yes. Music: It's the 80's! Disco, techno, rock n"roll time! So yes, the musicians and singers of this decade did a wonderful job and I must admit I love this decade a lot and yes, the 90's even more! Today's century? Needs to learn more things from this two amazing decades really. So yes, stars. To end this 'nerdy' review, 3 & a half stars of 5. It is sometimes slow since they explain a lot of things of the computer system and bla bla, but still is good if you are making a time-line play or movie or TV show with some science in it. So yes, enjoy and HASTA LA PROXIMA AMIGOS/AS! CHAO! BLESS YOU ALL!!! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member 4 out of 5 - The early days of computing is more fascinating than one would expect, and this recreation of the story of rivalry between Sinclair (Spectrum) and Curry (Acorn / BBC Micro) is riveting, amusing and very well made. Place and time are captured eloquently, with strong performances by Alexander Armstrong as the incredibly eccentric and egotistical Sir Clive, and "The Office"'s Martin Freeman as Chris Curry. Evocative soundtrack score. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Read all reviews
