Elizabeth C I loved it! Yeah it may be a little formulaic, but it stands out amongst the Hallmark-esque holiday movies for having two leads with some real chemistry and more than a little acting talent. When you see them joke about their childhoods, you believe they grew up together. When they look heartbroken, you believe it. When they confess their true feelings, you feel it too. And thankfully it's more realistic than most too. They don't just get engaged or married immediately. There is a proposal but they wait a year for it, so it's much more believable. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/01/24 Full Review trevor g I realize most movie critics will pan this movie, but I loved it. There are so many things going on in the world that keep people up at night, to have a movie with such good feels is needed sometimes. I wish there was a bit more backstory on the characters, maybe a few flashbacks or narratives on how things came to be but damn, it felt good to see people falling in love Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Awful movie please do not watch!! Bad acting, no interesting dialogue, extreme lack of diversity, and horrible writing for the lead female role. Extremely regressive for a movie made in 2020 and so predictable! Incredibly boring, do NOT waste your time with this. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review renaldo d the performances are terrible and the film manages to be predictable from beginning to end Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member sweet and cute and unrealistic Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member Generic rom-com. Barbara Shulgasser Common Sense Media There are no surprises in Midnight at the Magnolia, and perhaps that's a strength of this calming, familiar, cliched but reassuring movie. Rated: 2/5 Dec 16, 2021 Full Review Jeffrey Lyles Lyles' Movie Files While it doesn't offer many surprises, Midnight at the Magnolia benefits from the chemistry of its two leads. Rated: 7/10 Dec 8, 2020 Full Review Roger Moore Movie Nation As tasty as bargain-shelf whitebread and edgy as a butterknife. Rated: 1/4 Dec 2, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews
