London psychotherapist Felix Milne (Burgess Meredith) is bored with his patients and his marriage until he meets Adam Lucian (Kieron Moore). A former prisoner of war, Adam is dangerously unstable, and frequently mistakes his young wife (Barbara White) for his Burmese jailers. Despite some reservations, Felix begins intensive therapy with Adam, finding that he identifies with the traumatized soldier. As his patient improves, Felix himself is inspired to reorganize his personal life.
