A fairly annoying film, with a hopeful script that's just a little over cooked at times. This needed to be a lot cleaner, with either more emotional punch, or more comedy.

I love Parker Posey's Quirky Choices, she is a delightful Nut in this, & that is exactly what I am in the Mood for when I watch anything with her in it.This one is exceptionally Cute

One of two roles of Northam's that I can actually stand seeing him in (the other is Thomas More from the Tudors). Nothing too brilliant about the movie. Decent story and acting.

ha ha. first written review. this movie wasnt even released in america, and is only shown sometimes on the romance channel. its hard to explain the appeal of this movie. the way id describe it is 'the its parts are greater the the sum of the whole' theres: - early film inspired back and forth banter - parker posey - jeremy northam, in this great , understated performance - an entire soundtrack by saint etienne. yet, its played muted in the background at points. the last point probably explains it best. you want it to be so much better, but it wont let itself.

I love Parker Posey, but this movie is just bad. It's like they spent all the budget for script editing on casting Brooke Shields. The dialogue usually comes off in the same way watching a Gilmore Girls episode does, only not clever or funny.
