Mixed Nuts may provoke strong allergic reactions in all but the most undemanding filmgoers -- and the most forgiving Steve Martin fans.

Director/co-scripter Nora Ephron pitches the humor at a cacophonous level and displays the comedic equivalent of two left feet in evolving an absurdist, slapstick yarn. Go to Full Review

Timothy G @Unklemeat 4d Extinguished what little Christmas spirit I had before watching it. Don't know how any of the cast found work after this fiasco. Worthy recipient of a lump of coal. Merry Christmas See more Marina G @MarinaG Dec 14 This is a quirky, off-beat one so just enter into the experience with that in mind. Personally Mixed Nuts is in my yearly Xmas movie rotation. One of my all time favs with a wonderful cast!!! See more Rebecca B @rebeccaC8 Dec 9 I love this movie. I find it hilarious and relaxing to watch. I would recommend watching it if you like laughing. See more Anna J. @AaJay Dec 8 If you don’t understand that satire and dark humor is needed during the holidays, you can still enjoy this movie. It’s crazy and sweet and touches on all kinds of human conditions. Life Savers is a crisis hotline and it is the touch point for a cast of unlikely characters that come together during Christmas Day. The Ephron’s wrap big topics like acceptance, poverty, criminality, loneliness, selflessness, becoming a parent, capitalism, love, and death in one big SNL skit. The whole movie is over the top but helps to make the big picture digestible. Family isn’t always a given and finding yourself in an unlikely community can be just as important during the holidays. My two favorite lines in the movie are “There’s nothing in the refrigerator!” And “ Heeeeyyyy dickheads!” Which I think many will find relatable. See more Rocky K Nov 27 Uneven, over the top, silly, and a lot of fun. This is a movie to watch in the run up to Christmas, when something a little different - not intellectually or emotionally demanding - is in order. It slots in as an after-Thanksgiving/before-Christmas Eve spirit booster. The cast is generally likable, and the plot a little more complex than the usual holiday time-waster. A guilty pleasure? Well, I’m watching it again this year, and not making any apologies. See more Read all reviews
