Audience Member Mort d'un pourri (1977) Director: Georges Lautner Writers: Raf Vallet (novel), Michel Audiard (dialogue) Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Terrific Lautner/Audiard joint with a nice, sardonic edge and Sarde score. As the title and an early use of simultaneously intercut flashback indicates, easy narratives are not to be believed. The paranoid twists are convincing, and weave together some great chase/evasion scenes as well as an excellent stalking scenario that should appeal to fans of gialli. Delon and Muti are simply spectacular, and Kinski is excellent in a well cast and refreshingly not over-played role. Decaë's cinematography is top notch, and while not a groundbreaking film there are really no major weak points to be found here. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Read all reviews
