William Thomas Empire Magazine It's not the worst film you'll see all year, but it's not going to wind up on anyone's honour roll, either. Rated: 2/5 Oct 13, 2007 Full Review Derek Malcolm London Evening Standard As usual, Billy Bob is very watchable in the lead. But the rest of the film is only so-so. Rated: 2/5 Sep 29, 2007 Full Review Anthony Quinn Independent (UK) Laughs aplenty in this daft comedy about "letting go" . Rated: 3/5 Sep 29, 2007 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins It may be all in fun, but it's always difficult to take a subject as serious as bullying and give it the right balance of humorous discomfort and lesson-learning satisfaction. Rated: 6/10 Nov 27, 2020 Full Review Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com Tosses away a decent performance from Thornton and a winning, albeit one-note, performance from Sarandon. Rated: 2.5/4.0 Sep 17, 2020 Full Review Urban Cinefile Critics Urban Cinefile Mr Woodcock is ok as far as predictable, low-brow Hollywood comedies are concerned, and it's considerably elevated by its above average cast. Blu B It's bad but honestly not AS BAD as I expected. I've honestly seen much worse but it's terrible. The biggest strike this has is the whole thing has a very mean spirited tone to all the humor. You just don't like seeing everyone just be complete jerks to people for no reason. Maybe this was ahead of its time with its humor ironically. Anyway Scott isn't good and feels like he's so uncomfortable in this and not trying. Bare minimum at times. Suplee isn't bad and probably the only one who gets some laughs every now and than with his delivery and the only one really trying at times. The humor is lazy, surface level, poor slapstick, and sex humor. To it's credit I did get a laugh 15% of the time suprisingly. It looks on the cheap side. The music my god is the most bare minimum thing you can possibly imagine. The most generic guitar rift you can possibly imagine that you can barely hear. This really may be THE or at least one of the laziest soundtracks I have ever heard in a film. The pacing is terrible and everything else is just subpar in general. The whole girlfriend Scott gets feels completely pointless and goes nowhere. Investigating his former wife and all the other pointless gags and Meet the Parents style rivalry/relationship is all pointless. It's all just misunderstandings and makes Scott look like a real dick in the worst way possibe. Skip this. It just has nothing to say, nowhere near enough laughs and honestly makes you angry at times watching it. Direction is lazy and subpar also. Crazy to think this dude made I, Tonya.
