Audience Member I find the fact that people are saying the movie wasn't interesting, laughable quite frankly. Anyone with any kind of depth, any understanding of psychology, any kind of challenging life experience would find plenty to enjoy in this film. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Very Unconventional Kingsley in the house ! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Despite the performances of two great actors, the story line is quite boring. Was there really a need to make a film just because he was a Bestseller of a diet book? Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a good story. It's not about weight loss, it's about obsessing on one person - co-dependencies. Always a pleasure to watch Annette Bening. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member True Story, well acted by Annette Bening. This Woman was so Over The Top that you find yourself sympathetic to this Murderous Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member a quien le interesa? John Leonard New York Magazine/Vulture What [director Phyllis Nagy] has done is tailor this tabloid material to several different narrative tastes, which alternate as the movie shifts from love affair to temper tantrum to gunfire to murder trial and back again... Jan 18, 2018 Full Review Dennis Harvey Variety Playwright Phyllis Nagy's film directorial bow is an uneven affair. Sep 20, 2005 Full Review Kirk Honeycutt Hollywood Reporter The film was 'inspired' by Shana Alexander's book, but the tone comes straight out of the tabloids. This tone lies somewhere south of smugness but north of pure derision. Sep 18, 2005 Full Review Don Willmott Filmcritic.com Rated: 3/5 Aug 3, 2006 Full Review David Cornelius eFilmCritic.com It might not be up to the level of, say, Reversal of Fortune, but it's also far above your typical movie-of-the-week network filler. Rated: 3/5 Aug 2, 2006 Full Review Ross Anthony Hollywood Report Card The story is interesting, the characters are interesting, and while never boring, the picture never greatly impresses nor has much in the way of insight.
