Brian Costello Common Sense Media It's a fascinating look at a turbulent time in Mumbai, particularly for those who knew nothing about it. Rated: 3/5 Jan 18, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

KARAN R The documentary uses archival videos, photographs, news clippings, and old, as well as present-day interviews with top police officers, journalists, and an ex-gangster, along with stylishly shot recreated scenes of major events discussed in the film, to take the viewer inside the complex, violent, grey world of organized crime and police action, in the 1990s Mumbai (then Bombay). Without taking sides, the film cleverly shows both sides of the coin - the necessity of police crackdown, as well as the excessiveness of 'encounter' killings by some police officers. All of these narratives unfold against the backdrop of important events of the 1990s, such as the communal riots in Mumbai in 1992 and the serial bomb blasts in the city the following year. All in all, a well-made, intelligent documentaty, that makes necessary use of style, to uplift the viewing experience and make it great! Totally recommended!
