Juan Carlos Coto South Florida Sun-Sentinel Munchies is a film that should never have been made. In fact, no one should have even thought of making it. Rated: 0.5/4 Aug 19, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews

SkyRo P "Munchies" is hands down one of the most dreadful and appalling films I've ever had the misfortune of watching. It felt like a complete joke, and at times, it was so cringeworthy that I found myself squirming in discomfort. This movie doesn't fall into the category of being so bad that it's good; instead, it's just plain bad. I couldn't help but question why I wasted my precious time on it and whether I could ever recover the brain cells lost during the viewing. The plot revolves around alien creatures that resemble poorly made puppets straight out of a child's toy closet. Their movements were stiff and clearly manipulated, while their violence and viciousness came off as comically absurd. The characters were inappropriate, spewing vulgar dialogue and engaging in distasteful behavior that felt forced and ridiculous. Overall, "Munchies" is a film I would strongly advise against watching. It's a bizarre and unpleasant experience that offers little in terms of entertainment value. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/29/24 Full Review David W Cruelly overlooked at the Oscars.... Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Seem like a rip off of The Gremlins movie . Gremlins came out in 1984 and Munchies came out in 1987 . The Munchies even drive around in a very ugly yellow Gremlin Car and why is the Marching Band dress up like Native Americans ? Talk about your White Washing of a cast . Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Good lord that was awful. haha. It's a ripoff of the highest order, and it wouldn't be soo bad if it wasn't soo damn cheap looking. It's strictly kiddie fare, though it may only have worked for 80s kids, not sure, as it's basically just a live action 80s cartoon. This is to Gremlins, what Mac and Me is to ET. Shame on you Shout Factory for charging as much as you do for this cheap package... Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/14/18 Full Review Audience Member Not sure which came first, but pretty sure this was the influence behind Gremlins. The plot is a little tired, but i was surprised by the acting. Each character was given an opportunity and nailed it. Spielberg should be sued for his obvious rip off. Anyone who sees this know what's up. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Archaeologist brings home a critter he dubbed "munchie" as they soon evolve and terrorize citizens of a small town. Gremlins ripoff.
