Vesna M Aug 28 I give 5/5 stars to this movie because it make you wach twice or more to completly understand it. To do not spill all the beads I will say that location of the setting is close to Grece so the tragic inside dreamy bleu water is part of history. Dubrovnik is merchant city, for centuries, so their thinking about trade is a way to survive as well as patriarchalism. One person, a man ( father or brother) is in charge of all family members. For a girl to run away, the sea was only solution. Long time ago they will hang on shore and look for boats that will take them. In Dubrovnik, since is a farely small town the girls can recall the stories about " nona in America". There was a desperate need to broke aut. Trough the water and caves like an eal. Why not? To Harward? Maybe. The happy bacward sweam with large strokes tels me a lot. And really there is nothing flashy in this story. Over there people eat healthy mediteranien diet as well they walk a lot, lot of stairs. It is common to them to pay attention how they look, they speak many languages and there is no crime to call a diplomacy " a lie", especially among teenagers. The church and the community is a big part of everyon`s life too. Highly recomanded! The conflict escalates when a ‘friend’ of the father is a guest and is needed as an investor. With Western socialisation, the heroines' reactions are difficult to understand and incomprehensible. Other than a lot of eye candy via the cinematography, there isn't a lot of story or characters that are developed. Why do I care about these characters? In the end, there is not nearly enough depth to give this a recommendation.
