      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 is as sweet and harmless as the original, but its collection of sitcom gags and stereotypes never coalesces into anything resembling a story with a purpose.

Angel M I don't think the Original "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" could ever be surpassed, but the sequel makes a good effort. If you loved the original, you're going to like this one. It brings back the same lovable characters, and it's not short on laughs. Andrea Martin always shines with her comedic delivery. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/15/24 Full Review Britta Y Hard pass. It's a shame compared to the first movie. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/14/24 Full Review Nicole Better than expected. Good for a couple laughs but nothing amazing. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/13/23 Full Review Andrew K A middling sequel to a much better first film. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/23/23 Full Review Chris M Honestly, when I heard this movie was coming out I groaned and expected that Toula's child was getting married. Not this tired old sitcom plot. Not only do they have call backs to the jokes that weren't funny from the first movie, like every word in every language comes from Greek. But they added tired sitcom jokes in a plot that was used in a season 2 of "Gilligan's Island". But I got to admit I liked it a little better than the first but not by much. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/11/23 Full Review nita A Terrible, terrible, unfunny and full of idiotic steroetypes, This movie was most likely written by Artificial Intelligence and Horrible. Dont waste your money or time, you will regret it!! I know I do! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Nigel Andrews Financial Times There is so much food, music, dancing and crying that you want to come out, at the end, and find a quiet place to watch paint dry. Unless, of course, you loved MBFGW1 and have spent 14 years waiting for MBFGW2.
