Fyuya S I suffer with depression and this movie really captured the struggles I go through, I don't feel so alone anymore Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/01/23 Full Review Audience Member This was really interesting and I loved the animation. Honestly it didn't do much for me in helping me through the loss of my husband and there was some swearing that I didn't care for, but I did learn a few things through this cute little film. I may watch it again. Loved the "famous" voices as well Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member As someone with Bipolar Depression it's humiliating to write this review, because everything that happened to her has happened to me and according to the audience ratings it was a rotten story. I'll admit the first few minutes were hard to watch. The metaphorical dark cloud and sad dialogue had a 'pity party' feel to it and frankly looked like any other cheesy commercial for Anti-depressents... Then something changed. She started telling a story about what Depression did to her life, her career, her relationships, damaging outbursts from uncontrollable emotions. To most people that still sounds like a 'pity party,' and no one wants to hear a person feeling sorry for themselves. But to me, it was almost word for word everything I've experienced since I was 13 years old. As I watched the movie through I broke down shaking and with every disgusting sob relieved the past decade of my life. A life with mental illness isn't 28 minutes long. It exists in every moment and affects everything you care about and want to accomplish. And when you find a path to recovery, you carry with you the heavy burden of acceptance. Acceptance that you're sick ("insane" and "crazy" start feeling like derogatory words) and that getting better will take years to achieve. I wish I could thank Elizabeth Swados, kindred souls are rare to find and precious to bear in mind. It's rare to believe you're not alone, but after watching "My Depression" I can see I'm not.
