Critics Consensus

Overstuffed and unrealistic, My Kingdom may be worth seeing if only for Richard Harris' typically fine performance.

05/14/2016 In this, his final film, Harris put in a strong performance - unfortunately everything else is decidedly amateur See more 02/23/2012 a decent addition to the british gangster movie See more 06/18/2009 A modern day "King Lear" that is essentially your basic soap about a family working in the field of organized crime. All of the usual mob romantism is left out and replased by extreme harshness and dark imagery. The overall grittiness works for a short while, but the film doesn't take off at all. The end result is a sadly tired and predictable story that even a reasonably good cast can't save. See more 06/30/2008 I really enjoyed this. Re-read Lear first. See more 05/14/2008 wow - very good and rather disturbing. sometimes the Shakspearian moments work, and sometimes they seem otu of place or a bit OTT, but overall rather good See more 03/27/2008 Modern king lear, great film...
