Audience Member I was disappointed in this film. They had a great opportunity to make it more than the stage show, and they chose to make a movie that was just a filming of an audience watching the stage show. If you've never seen it, you should know that that show is performed on an empty stage with no sets or props -- those are left to the viewers' imaginations. This works fine with live theater, but for a big-screen viewing experince, it just felt empty. In some of the sketches, such as Naked Maid or Window to Window, the stories are largely about the setting: in the former, our protagonist has been hired to clean a wealthy couple's fancy apartment in the buff, and in the latter, two men in different apartment buildings have a "long-distance" relationship by observing each other with binoculars. These would have particularly benefitted from not being reduced to just naked men standing on an empty stage. Naked Boys singing has no overarching story but is just a series of unconnected vignettes. Its main appeal in theaters is that it offers catchy songs and attractive men in the nude. Nowadays it's not difficult to see naked men if one wishes to, and the songs from this show can be listened to without sitting through the film. The filmmakers should have done everything they could to bring the short stories to life and offer something beyond listening to the soundtrack, but they really dropped the ball. The numbers were good, loved the simple plot, but I think the nakedness is unnecessary. HOWEVER, the biggest downfall of this... musical is the vulgar humour that is not very funny at all.
