Jonathan Romney Screen International Don't Look Back, an initially intriguing, ultimately incoherent mind-bender. May 17, 2009 Full Review Mike D'Angelo AV Club Don't Look Back leans hard on a conventionally atonal musical score and cheap shock cuts, as well as some dubious special effects. May 16, 2009 Full Review Peter Brunette Hollywood Reporter "Don't Look Back" begins promisingly. Seemingly obsessed with surfaces, the camera restlessly searches for hints and clues among the fragments we see, even before we know there's a mystery. May 15, 2009 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews ...feels as though it were pulled out of David Lynch's pile of (justifiably) rejected screenplays. Rated: 1.5/4 Nov 19, 2010 Full Review Chris Cabin Filmcritic.com Anyone expecting more than the pleasure of seeing two of Europe's most ravishing actresses, Sophie Marceau and Monica Bellucci, sharing the same scene ... should brace for disappointment Rated: 1.5/5 Jul 1, 2010 Full Review Brian Orndorf BrianOrndorf.com There are two wonderful performances to savor here, but the film itself doesn't hold much of a lasting impact despite a convincing parade of hysteria. KEVIN C Sophie Marceau plays a writer in this psychological drama that begins to think she may not be who she thinks she is leading to much paranoia and mistrust with people in her life. This is an interesting French film which also stars Monica Bellucci. Well acted and engaging. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Wow!!!! this was actually pretty entertaining. I love the way they change the language to French to Italian. Love Monica Belluci she is just to beatiful to see in person as well in film. The suspense and story was interesting and that what kept me into it. As for that being said I give this movie a C-. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/27/19 Full Review Audience Member Don't Look Back isn't worth the trouble or the frustration Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review don s As confusing and incoherent as it was, I still enjoyed this psychological thriller for the wonderful performances of the leading ladies, two of Europe's most scintillating talents, Sophie Marceau and Monica Bellucci. The integration of one into the other was wild and disconcerting. The story slowly unfolds and comes together somewhat at the end, but it is a long road getting there and you scratch your head a lot along the way. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member An enjoyable film. Quite a mind trip. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member excellent, multi-layered, requires several views Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Read all reviews
