Shubhra Gupta The Indian Express Except for momentary descent into needless cliche, and a couple of flat notes, Newton stays firmly on course. Rated: 4/5 Jul 18, 2019 Full Review Anupama Chopra Film Companion Newton's fight against the system was searing and memorable. Rated: 4/5 Sep 6, 2018 Full Review Namrata Joshi The Hindu Watching the film I was struck by the artistic landmines it could have potentially got trapped in but manages to navigate well. Jan 24, 2018 Full Review Saibal Chatterjee NDTV [A] delectably free-flowing, brilliantly written and wonderfully well-acted film. Rated: 4/5 Jul 23, 2020 Full Review Anna M.M. Vetticad Firstpost I strongly suggest that you stay till the very last credit has rolled off the screen. Rated: 4/5 May 8, 2019 Full Review Laura Davis One Room With A View Most of the film is entertaining enough, but it is a shame that some of it is sacrificed for some boring sentimental bits. Abdul M So boring and stretched movie Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/21/24 Full Review Ashish P While the pacing of the movie is slow, Newton manages to find a place in your mind and raises some questions about how much do we even know about what's happening in our country while being engaging. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/20/23 Full Review Audience Member I was expecting more from this film but it was a little disappointing for me. The end in my opinion wasn't as satisfying as I was expecting, nonetheless an average film that is very grounded. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member Awesome Movie!! each and every dialogue by cast is precious!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Nearly flawless film. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Newton (or Nutan Kumar) is an honest and upright government officer who is sent to supervise elections in Naxal country. Only 76 people in his electoral area. How he goes about making sure he does his duty and villagers with voters cards come to vote is the story. It is a really engaging movie with Rajkummar Rao playing the honest and idealist officer and Pankaj Tripathi playing the battle hardened practical armyman. The rest of the cast is really good as well. Its one of those movies that you end up recommeding to your friends if they know nothng or something about elections, small town India and Naxalites.
