After discovering that both of his predecessors had been murdered, Kornblow begins to fear for his safety -- especially when Nazi Count Pfefferman (Sig Ruman) tries to take over Kornblow's job in a bid to get his hands on valuable items that were stashed in the hotel by the Nazis at the tail end of the war.

A Night in Casablanca has its moments--when it works, it works--but its a far cry from their best work at Paramount or MGM. Go to Full Review

The slapstick comedy antics and string of relentless Groucho one-liners seemed more tired than subversively funny. Go to Full Review

Point some of that blame at the cumbersome screenplay and lackluster director Archie Mayo, a.k.a. 'that fat idiot' to Groucho, who said Mayo 'emasculated' the picture. Go to Full Review

Dwayne B Nov 28 The brothers look a little long in the tooth in A Night in Casablanca, but they still have it. Harpo has some great gags. Groucho is as slick as ever. And Chico is as always, the glue that holds them together. Groucho has some great lines in this one, like when his dance partner asks him to come closer and he replies with something along the line of "If I were any closer, you'd be in back of me" Personally, I like this one a lot better than Love Happy, The Big Store and Room Service. See more r96 s Mar 3 'A Night in Casablanca' makes for my first Marx Brothers movie! It's one I had a fun time watching, this type of deadpan, slapstick comedy is what tends to get the most amusement out of me and this did just that. I was never belly laughing, but chuckling away I was. Harpo Marx brings the most chuckles, which is all the more impressive given he barely says a word; that's his thing, I'm now learning (I only knew the Marxs by name, not any details). Groucho Marx and Chico Marx are fun too. Sig Ruman is the best of the rest of the cast. It does get a bit repetitive towards the conclusion, though the overall ending itself means that isn't actually an issue when all is said and done. See more Jacob A 10/06/2024 Very Funny Movie! See more charles d 01/01/2023 Made well after the Marx Bros prime (they came out of retirement to do it), this is the boys going through their paces from memory. A few great bits, but they don't add up to a film See more 08/08/2021 This definitely isn't the Marx Brothers best film nor is it their worst. The jokes still work after 75 years and the antics of Groucho, Chico and Harpo are classic. Sadly no one of Margaret DuMont's stature to play as Groucho's rich object of derisive love but hey, its the Marx Brothers - funny, friendly, musical and brings back happy memories of happier times.
