Mark Olsen Los Angeles Times Intermittently fun and occasionally witty, with just the right touch of self-awareness. Rated: 3/5 Aug 4, 2006 Full Review Robert Koehler Variety If there were a 99 Cents Store for movies, cheapo pic -- designed more for lonely male geeks in their teens and above than the date crowd -- would fit nicely on the shelves. Aug 4, 2006 Full Review Adam Nayman L.A. Weekly All impenetrably dark nighttime shots, politely telegraphed shocks and limp, transparent misogyny masquerading as genre-savvy hijinks. Aug 3, 2006 Full Review Steve Biodrowski ESplatter The saving grace is the obvious awareness of the familiar tropes, coupled with a clear effort to use them in clever, surprising ways. Jul 12, 2008 Full Review Dustin Putman TheFilmFile.com Rough around the edges, but it is also frequently funny in its adherence to clichs and does boast an energetic tone. Rated: 2.5/4 Nov 11, 2007 Full Review Bruce Feld Film Journal International The plot is derivative, the dialogue cumbersome and clich-ridden. Mar 1, 2007 Full Review Read all reviews

Donald B Nightmare Man is about this woman that orders a fertility mask. Unfortunately, there is an evil spirit inhabiting the mask that breaks loose and rapes her. Of course no one believes her and they decide to admit her into a mental home. On the way to the mental home the car breaks down (in the middle of nowhere) and so the husband leaves her all alone while he goes to get gas. The woman keeps popping pills that we are led to believe are for her mental condition. It then switches to nighttime and the husband isn't back yet, but she thinks she is hearing voices. Upon getting out of the car to investigate, the Nightmare Man jumps out and terrorizes her a bit before she decides to drop her flashlight and run off into the woods. While terrorizing her, the Nightmare Man cuts her leg with a knife. There is a prolonged chase scene through the woods where the Nightmare Man fails to overpower the woman as she throws him aside multiple times (Note** we also see at this point that the knifes blade is wobbling around like a rubber knife**). Cutting forward a little, the woman comes upon a house in the middle of the woods where four young, attractive people are partying. They take her in and tend to her leg wound. One of the partying youths wants to call the cops, but the woman insists that they try her husband first because she hasn't heard from him in hours and fears he may have fallen victim to the Nightmare Man. They called him and he tells them she is sick and the cops didn't need to get involved; they give him directions to get there. Then, the wife realizes that she lost her pills and flips out. One of the dudes there punches her in the face to knock her out. Long story short, Nightmare Man shows up and kills 3 of the 4 youthful party-goers while the last one guards the door with a hunting rifle. The wife wakes up and says that she needs her pills or the Nightmare Man will get out again, but she is tied up and the last youth doesn't want to hear her whining. The husband eventually gets there and wants the final youth to give him the gun, which to my surprise, she doesn't. Annoyed, he decides to go look for his wife's pills since she keeps blabbing on about needing them to keep the Nightmare Man trapped inside her. While in the woods, the husband runs into the Nightmare Man, who turns out to be a hitman that the husband hired to kill his wife. Disgusted at his failure, the husband orders the hitman to finish the job. Once inside, the hitman fights with the last of the party-goers over the rifle while the tied up wife starts convulsing. Finally getting the upper-hand, the hitman is about to kill the youth when they both hear a growl coming from behind them. They turn and the wife has transformed into a demon, the Nightmare Man. The demon starts cracking one liners and kills the hitman while the remaining party girl runs off. The husband then shows up and gets killed by the Nightmare Man as well, but not before we find out that the wife knew about his side chick and that they both planned to kill her for her money (this is news to the viewer as they literally never mentioned that she was wealthy up to this point). After killing the husband, the demon rushes off to kill the remaining youth. It catches her and informs her that the pills were meant to suppress the Nightmare Man, but since the idiots tied her up, it was able to escape. (I would love to know what doctor prescribed these pills and what the side effects are). The girl kills the demon, but the spirit escapes and rapes the girl, but not before she is able to find the pills and take one to suppress it. This movie exists my friends and I took the time to watch it : / Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/06/18 Full Review Audience Member Predictible until the end. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member nice one! keeps tension through all movie..liked the turn when the devil appeared to be the contract-killer. and it was tooo flat when they put that demon in the woman later. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member Why, oh why did I watch this? The devil rape scene in the beginning was a warning to stop watching this. Things just got worse, and worse...some idiot dressed up with the mask on, killing everyone still doesn't add up to "somehow he got out!" And where did the idea that medication will keep a demonic spirit under wraps, come from exactly? Playing "puppet master"? And the green looking devil woman....I just can't say anymore. This is one of the STUPIDEST films I have ever seen. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member I laughed when the lead woman tried to shoot the "Nightmare Man" and be tough, within close range too, but missed him by a few feet. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member This reminded me of a b rated 80s movie. I really think with a bit more work on the script, and better acting it could have have been better. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews
