Austin Chronicle Rated: 1/5 Apr 14, 2012 Full Review Marjorie Baumgarten Austin Chronicle The filmmaking is lugubrious and heavy-handed, and the dramatic arc stagnant and airless. Joshua W There were a lot of corny moments to this movie, but overall it was a really good film. I'd imagine the low critic rating is because of the pro-life aspect, but this is a very enjoyable and touching movie. Yes, there are moments to roll your eyes at, but as a whole, this movie worked. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/22/23 Full Review Audience Member I don’t really remember ever giving any movie this high of a rating but the story in this is really amazing Everyone out there needs to watch this James Welch, Henderson, Arkansas, May 24, 2023 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/24/23 Full Review Audience Member As a Christian believer~I think this is probably the best movie I have seen on Pure Flix. The acting is real, the topic sensitive but it is full of the Spirit, full of love and honesty, integrity, complex relationships and sorting out difficult, challenging feelings. But it was done beautifully. It's for a more mature audience and I am not going to elaborate further. I will touch your heart and soul! ❤ That said, worldly people won't 'get it'. (jmo) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member I loved the purpose of the movie which was to teach us to forgive those who have hurt us. This movie is very close to my heart. An Original and very valuable lesson. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member October Baby was inspired by a YouTube video chronicling the life experiences of Gianna Jessen, who was born after a failed abortion attempt. It is deserving of its audience score, and it also deserves its critic score. The movie is non traditional, it doesn't check the boxes to please the critics, the score it received is fair. That does not mean its a bad movie, it just means its not standard. You should not judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree. The movie is truly inspired from life. Not fantasy, this is not an avengers movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member Multiple aspects of multiple themes of the movie, such as forgiveness for example, were well communicated. Also I especially liked two very short scenes, one after the other, near the movie's end: (Scene 1) Nurse Mary, in a hospital, bringing what seems to be the latest newborn baby to the nice police officer (played by Tracy Miller) & his wife (the baby being the wife's 4th baby if I recall correctly); the scene seems to imply that Nurse Mary has returned to nursing after having had her earlier conversation with Hannah. (Scene 2) Cindy Hastings showing Hannah's note of forgiveness to her husband (and her husband telling Cindy that he loves Cindy). Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Read all reviews
