What to Know

Critics Consensus

Its cast of gifted comics is good for a handful of laughs, but Office Christmas Party's overstuffed plot ultimately proves roughly as disappointing as its clichéd gags and forced sentimentality.

Maybe it's because of all the depressing news... or ... the holidays and we are in dire need to see something lighthearted and, frankly, stupid right now, but this is temporarily satisfying. I guess that's all we can ask for this moment. Go to Full Review

The film, for all its failures, works as an effective catalogue of life in the modern-day office, an assortment of absurdities, fictions and religious rituals that we somehow mistook for normal. Go to Full Review

Brandon 06/16/2022 I loved it and wish all Christmas parties were like this. See more G 12/31/2021 A true Christmas classic of our generation. This movie deserves a sequel. See more Ste H @Ste1h 1d Well worth more than 41%. Has some really funny moments. 80% for me. Good xmas fun. See more Paul S @sandmn7 5d You can't rate Office Christmas Party as if it is a regular film. It's a xmas movie and should be judged as such. Is it in the league of other xmas comedies like Elf? No. Is it better than most of the cliche garbage out there? Absolutely. It's fun, entertaining, and actually has a plot that keeps you along for the ride. See more Darcy F @BusterDarcy Dec 16 Just rewatched this and it still holds up as a laugh out loud blast! I honestly don’t get why it got panned so hard. The performances are great, so many hilarious moments and scenes, and sure the script isn’t Oscar worthy but it actually does a nice job building in callbacks and bringing the characters together in a satisfying way. If you’re on the fence don’t let the low scores deter you, this is definitely worth your time if you’re looking for a solid a holiday comedy.
