Josh Kupecki Austin Chronicle The messages delivered here are more about being a proper human than anything else, and that's a reminder we could all use. Rated: 2.5/5 Oct 29, 2015 Full Review Kerry Lengel Arizona Republic "Once I Was a Beehive" is not a movie that's apt to impress grumpy critics. But then they aren't the target audience. Rated: 2.5/5 Sep 17, 2015 Full Review Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com Once I Was a Beehive is what faith-inspired films should be - showing how to live and love and simply be in a life where tragedies happen and things break and sometimes life really, really hurts and it's our faith that we have to hold onto. Rated: 3.5/4.0 Feb 13, 2022 Full Review Grace Montgomery Common Sense Media Religious camp comedy is hokey but heartfelt and fun. Rated: 3/5 Jun 8, 2016 Full Review Amy Wolfe Willamette Week With spiritual bonding activities, like rolling into camp on Noah's ark, and keeping-the-faith motivational messages, the movie is a religious diatribe of biblical proportions. Rated: D Dec 30, 2015 Full Review Josh Terry Deseret News (Salt Lake City) Once I Was a Beehive is a film that benefits greatly from its core casting. Both Warner and Smith are strong in their roles, pushing past easy characterizations to bring out some very honest moments. Sep 3, 2015 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member What a great movie: fun, funny, solid acting, with a nice touch of the feels. No corn here. Great uplifting movie for the family. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie was a bit of a disappointment. Although I knew that it took place at a Morman camp, I wasn't expecting it to be so religious. Not a bad thing at all, but if you're not religious or these kinds of things bother you, it might be best to skip this movie altogether. I was disappointed that the movie wasn't funnier. I think I only laughed once and I found some of it to be ridiculous. I mean (spoiler alert) who gets a bloody nose from having a snowball thrown in their face? Anyway, my main problem with this movie is that almost everyone in it (the adults anyway) annoyed me to no end. This movie did remind me a little of my junior high days and the retreats we took, so in that respect it was a nice movie. I think that really it would be perfect for a youth group of middle school or junior high age to watch at church, but as an adult I found the whole thing a little silly. There are scenes involving a bear that were beyond ridiculous and like I said, most of the adults annoyed me, as did some of the kids. Overall it's an okay movie but I prefer something with a little more humor in it. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Great watch, will watch again, and can recommend for those who don't mind a religiously minded story. Paris Warner and Lisa Clark do a wonderful teen girl duo, and nail their roles. I'm not typically a fan of religious stories, but if you're open minded, there is a lot to this movie, and its all about loss, acceptance and community. I love the idea that people can do what's best for the community and all better each other. It's sad that we have so many problems cross communities, but this might be a movie to make you forget about all that. If you liked Troop Zero, then I think you'll like this. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member I absolutely loved this movie! It's a wonderful family-type movie that is fun for laughs and tears even to watch all alone. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member This is one of my new favorite films in so many ways. I don't know if the people in the film were born-again, unfortunately the film wasn't nesscarily a born-again Christan film. I just pray all the actors in the film are born-again in real life..... Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member So funny! Loved it! I thought that was going to be my first girls camp. Loved the story, hope there is a sequel!!
