London officials learn of a plan by Nazis to create new, more destructive missiles during World War II. Working quickly to stop the potentially catastrophic movement, the prime minister calls for an immediate investigation. Three experts (George Peppard, Jeremy Kemp, Tom Courtenay) are instructed to enter Germany and inspect a plant that is believed to hold the explosives. The men pose as German soldiers in a mission that may save England, but not without consequences.

Although it doesn't rank in the upper echelons of WWII-set "men on a mission" movies (see: The Guns of Navarone, The Dirty Dozen, Where Eagles Dare), Operation Crossbow gets the gritty job done.

Cheesy 1960's action flick; George Peppard was in episodes of "The A Team" more plausible than this. The sets and script are a bad James Bond ripoff. Carlo Ponti produces and the lovely Miss Loren comes along to collect an extra paycheck and adds nothing but the obligatory eye candy. Makes "The Dirty Dozen" look like a cinematic masterpiece.
