A cataclysmic cross between the gung-ho jingoist action blowouts of Michael Bay and the heroic bloodshed melodramas of Hong Kong, the film's more-is-more aesthetic resulted in one of the most thrilling and punishing spectacles in recent world cinema.

Most realistic war movie I ever watched. Every weekend warriors in US should watch this movie and learn how brutal war can be!!! P.S. only 4 stars because audio is in Chinese language. ❤️👍

There is not a single mode of weaponry not used in the 2+ hour actioner...it's a fabulous movie regarding the bonds of war teams. Tank warfare, parawing suits, giant sandstorms, sniper-vs-sniper gamesmanship, women soldiers snapping necks, hand grenades galore, televised beheadings, missing fingers and arms, knife fights, Helos and winding SAMs, navy ships launching missles, mini-drone bombs, major drones, and slo-mo bullets and mortar shells...did I miss anything?
