michael t While the premise was implausible, I found the characters likeable. Shirya Saran as Priya was gorgeous and stole every scene she was in, which was most of the movie. Jesse Metcalf's character was engaging enough and I thought they had good chemistry as a prospective couple. It had the usual twists and turns for a romantic comedy and her father's reaction to the situation added comic relief to the romantic tension. It was much better than I expected from the reviews, but maybe I'm just a sucker for a 'pretty woman'. Yes, they used that song. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member At first I thought the film treated Indian culture with disrespect, Americanizing India, but after that it became subverted and becomes a criticism of US influence in the world, individuals from other countries try to become the closest to a American, learning about culture and customs, and forgetting about her own nationality, the film deals with this an Indian wanting to turn Americana and leaving aside India. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member A script as limp as the acting. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Frances H A bit bland, but pleasant. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/10/15 Full Review farah r Everything sweet and and charming about this movie falls utterly short at how predictable and boring it is. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Another cliche I dian American film where a native falls for the foreigner.
