Cinder C Brady Nelson's "Outrage" is a timely and unsettling display of manipulation. This political thriller deals with controlling access to information and the stream of digital media to force public opinion. Maclevoy (played by Paul Stuart) really set the tone with an unnerving phone call from a mysterious and powerful man. I expected controlled chaos from this psychopath, and hot damn did he deliver! Stuart's performance kept me unsettled and intrigued. I love a good villain. The use of AI images for the competing politicians, and AI generated voices was interesting though it did take me out of the story. Lastly, I loved how the editing played into the storytelling. It sucked me into the digital narrative on Kevin's computer screen, only to snap me back to reality. Suddenly the people are real and the stakes are life ruining. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/01/25 Full Review Patrick W This is a solid backroom political drama that takes you behind the scenes of today's manufactured and manipulated media environment where outrage is just a timely post or tweet away. People's lives are just collateral damage in the social media crossfires. The smart script by Brady Nelson takes Kevin, both savvy and naive in different ways, and puts him down a rabbit hole of information, disinformation, and gaslighting. Paul Stuart deftly plays the shadowy boss directing the proceedings. Truth doesn't matter in their actions, only the feelings and reactions that they hope to inspire. In a way this represents the democratization of the media as anyone can effectively spread rumor and hearsay to destroy other people's lives and careers. A great line in the script is, "We're not lying, we're speculating." The sterile office setting adds to the moral ambiguity of the characters and their actions. I definitely recommend this to people who enjoy political intrigue and want to make sense of the media environment around them. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/29/25 Full Review TRAVIS G I just watched the movie OUTRAGE starring Alex Campbell and both written and directed by Brady Nelson. The movie has a lot of strong scenes. It also was very interesting to watch with strong characters which kept the story moving forward and was very engaging. It was a very fresh take on what could actually happen in real life politics. It kind of hits almost to close to home. This movie was shot in a very creative stylistic way. It’s suspenseful and dramatic and great dialogue and great acting Love it! The storyline pulls you in many directions as you're watching this movie. This intense ride will have you wondering what will happen next. I thought all the lead actors were strong. Check this movie out! You’ll remember it! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/23/25 Full Review Bobby L “Outrage”, Bradley Nelson’s masterful political thriller is both exhilarating and terribly frightening. This movie showed in this political climate and age of disinformation, how easily voters can be misled and how the truth is less important to the attention span limited public than a few sensational but made-up torrid stories … It is frightening that “outrage” is a timely story, and a mirror of what’s currently happening in our society. I believe this is an important film and would highly recommend it to anyone who believe the truth and our democracy is worth fighting for….. The ensembles cast were incredibly strong, and Alex Campbell and Paul Stuart are particular captivating. “Outrage” feels like a story that could come straight from today’s headlines. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/23/25 Full Review Josh S Outrage is a gripping political thriller that really delivers. The performances were incredibly strong across the board, adding weight and authenticity to a story that feels like it could be ripped from today’s headlines. It has the sharp, calculating feel of House of Cards or The Ides of March — full of tension, twists, and questions about truth, media, and power. A smart, well-acted, and deeply unsettling watch. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/22/25 Full Review Rich G Bradley Nelson’s political thriller is sharp, exciting and frightening. Frightening in the fact that his story is timely, and disturbingly real. A story about online disinformation that leaves you thinking what can you do? Is all lost? Is everything we thought about our society and government all a façade? In spite of needing a strong adult beverage after watching this film I highly recommend it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/15/25 Full Review Read all reviews
