Critics Consensus

P2 is full of gore, but low on suspense, featuring a cat-and-mouse plot has been done many times before.

It is like a Michael Haneke film but without the intellectual underpinnings and is therefore just pointlessly plain and, in one long scene of torture, unwatchably sadistic. Go to Full Review

Steven t @SST609 15h Good Christmas Eve thriller. See more Jens B @Jens97 Dec 16 The abandoned parking garage as a setting for a horror film – a trend 20 years later than liminal spaces and backrooms – works surprisingly well. As for the acting: Rachel Nichols reprises her role from the Amityville remake, and Wes Bentley is only making the film to earn more money for heroin anyway. The special effects are a highlight, but unfortunately, there are very few victims – "P2" aims to be more of a psychological chamber piece than a slasher. As a lighthearted Christmas horror flick, "P2" is okay, but nothing more. One viewing is more than enough. See more Jacob B Dec 9 So...did I watch the same movie as these other people? Because I thought this was an underrated psychological horror/thriller. I get disapproving of the excessive violence and let's just say that a certain scene would not fly in the post-John Wick landscape but torture porn? It really isn’t, despite what this film coming out during the Saw franchise's heyday might imply. P2 does a terrific job of wringing out as many thrills as possible from its claustrophobic premise with well-constructed cinematography, a sympathetic heroine and an unhinged performance from Wes Bentley. It never feels like there's any cheating to let one side win. The result? A climax that's all the more cathartic when one side has had its fun and now it's the other's turn. A tense, edge-of-your-seat movie perfect for the "movies merely set around Christmas still count in my book" crowd. Not a work of art but I do think P2 deserves its "Vindicated by History" addition on TV Tropes. See more Jan O @vafan Dec 4 Disgusting. Shown by the name of "100% Christmas" at Rakuten Free Films service. With cute commersials with hearts bubbling up as a guy is getting brutally murdered.
