Audience Member As a reluctant fan of Kinski, I have admired some of his works and this drove me to view this film. What I forced myself to watch was hardly a traditional film with a plot, but more of an an art house collage of repetitive scenes that are lost on the audience. The subject matter is rich, but not used to deliver an biographical story of perhaps the greatest violinist of all time. He asked his go-to director Werner Herzog to direct this film, and he refused, leaving Kinski full reins on all production aspects. This film was such a disaster for Kinski that he never acted again and died 3 years later. If it wasn't for Debora Caprioglio's breasts, no part of this film would be worth retaining in memory. I give it half a star for the film plus 1 star for Ms. Caprioglio's "acting". Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Horribly boring with shoddy production value and editing, though I hear the producers' version is at least of better quality. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member An enjoyable trainwreck and exotic curio for cinemaphiles, you learn much more about the enigmatic Kinski than about Paganini in viewing this film. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Kinsky thought that he actually was Paganini in a former life. He directed himself in this crazy biopic that doesn't really make sense, but it's more interesting than a lot of traditional biopics for the magical magnetism of this mad but extremely charismatic actor. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member (***): Thumbs Up Interesting film and infamous in many ways, mostly as being Kinski's big pet project. A curio for cinephiles. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member A lot of erotic scenes, violin music and Paganini taking care of his son, all in a strange mix. It would be a very uninteresting movie if it wasn't Kinski in the lead role since it somewhat reflected his own life. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Read all reviews
