Ana R. G Sep 29 He leído el libro, apasionante!!! La película no está nada mal me dejó buen sabor😊 See more Pedro P 05/01/2023 An excellent movie, which brings a perfect mix between romance, drama, action and slight touches of suspense; depicting the harsh reality of a colonized country and its society. This movie is one I will always remember and keep close to my heart because of its bittersweet story, "forbidden romance" drama, and well-developed characters, which feel very real and human. Although it is an open-ended movie, its lack of closure doesn't feel too out of place or frustrating, unlike what happens ever so often. See more Benjamin H 11/02/2022 It certainly has its moments throughout and is overall well-acted and more interesting than many other movies of its kind, but the relentless length and the inconsistent pacing makes for a kinda wonky movie that never goes to the full grace that it could have done. See more isla s 09/03/2022 This is a sad watch - its quite a moving story with good characters. Its quite dark in tone, certainly towards the end. I thought it was quite moving. The plot pace is perhaps a little slow - it certainly has a long running time of over 2 and a half hours but in a way thats good as it allows the viewer to become more attached to the various characters, to get more of a feel for the local people/community. Much of the film features yellow lighting - it is dark lit in many scenes. I felt it was pretty atmospheric and when we're shown general aerial shots of the surrounding land, the cinematography was quite stunning. I liked the use of music in this film - it wasn't overbearing and it didn't cheapen it but it did help to make me wonder what lay ahead for people, to question what some may be thinking and so on. Its a sobering tale but I felt the themes were well handled and so this is a good film. Its perhaps a bit predictable in some historical regards, sadly and a little slow to build in terms of plot development, so it may not suit everyone but that aside its good. The cast do a decent job, especially Berta Vazquez as Bisila and Mario Casas as Killian. See more 06/04/2020 It is a beautiful story through time itself that sadly and painfully recounts the lives of women in the "world" of men, mostly predominating by sexism and rape. Despite the sadness of seeing reality, it is a beautiful story that relates the kindness and respect of a few men still held. Really valuable movie. See more Read all reviews
