Addelman has crafted a story of gentle drama that smacks of authenticity, chronicling - as the title suggests - the couple's bumpy first year of marriage while casting two appealing young actors in the lead roles. Go to Full Review

Jogia and Hewson are entirely believable in capturing and portraying deep affection and adoration for one another, which makes it all the more affecting when their relationship breaks down. Go to Full Review

A subplot that finds Dan obsessing over Hailey's conveniently-left-out diary fizzles, as does the larger question of Franny's crush on Noah. Go to Full Review

Their problems are numbingly generic, while the couple's SoCal setting and career aspirations add nothing of special significance to this tale of wandering eyes and untested convictions. Go to Full Review

Though more breezily poignant than deeply insightful, Paper Year has a savvy commercial snap in its portrayal of love coming undone. Go to Full Review

01/15/2022 Lovely, charming, realistic movie about naive love. Eve Hewson is a revelation. See more karen t 06/15/2020 This wasn't really a film about marriage but a film demonstrating how a disparity in ambition and motivation can erode respect, and ultimately break a relationship, however charming and well suited the couple are initially. A sweet well acted indie film which leaves you slightly empty. See more 02/05/2020 Very realistic, which typically I like, but it doesn't change how much I hate the ending. It's too sad and disappointing. I feel depressed now :( See more 07/13/2019 Wow, that was depressing. I guess it was more realistic. But, damn I do not feel good after watching that. See more 04/29/2019 This is a horrible movie about two early twenty-somethings who confuse lust for love. They are both selfish and put themselves, not each other, first. The most horrible scene was not Frannie cheating on her new husband. It was the scene where she said if she was pregnant by her new husband that she didn't want a baby yet. She broke his heart right then and there. The rest of the story is boring filler. This is a pathetic and hateful image of young married love. I would not recommend this movie to anyone. If I could give this trashy movie a zero I would, but then I wouldn't be able to post it. So I give it a 1 knowing that's really a zero or below. See more 03/18/2019 Paper Year, es un drama romanticoide que trata sobre los matrimonios apresurados por la adrenalina y la pasión... Una trama muy plana y bastante básica además de predecible. Le falta esencia. See more Read all reviews
