Audience Member Lovely, charming, realistic movie about naive love. Eve Hewson is a revelation. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review karen t This wasn't really a film about marriage but a film demonstrating how a disparity in ambition and motivation can erode respect, and ultimately break a relationship, however charming and well suited the couple are initially. A sweet well acted indie film which leaves you slightly empty. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Very realistic, which typically I like, but it doesn't change how much I hate the ending. It's too sad and disappointing. I feel depressed now :( Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member Wow, that was depressing. I guess it was more realistic. But, damn I do not feel good after watching that. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a horrible movie about two early twenty-somethings who confuse lust for love. They are both selfish and put themselves, not each other, first. The most horrible scene was not Frannie cheating on her new husband. It was the scene where she said if she was pregnant by her new husband that she didn't want a baby yet. She broke his heart right then and there. The rest of the story is boring filler. This is a pathetic and hateful image of young married love. I would not recommend this movie to anyone. If I could give this trashy movie a zero I would, but then I wouldn't be able to post it. So I give it a 1 knowing that's really a zero or below. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Kate Taylor Globe and Mail Slight but intriguing... Rated: 3/4 Jun 22, 2018 Full Review Bruce DeMara Toronto Star Addelman has crafted a story of gentle drama that smacks of authenticity, chronicling - as the title suggests - the couple's bumpy first year of marriage while casting two appealing young actors in the lead roles. Rated: 3/4 Jun 21, 2018 Full Review Deborah Krieger Bust Magazine Jogia and Hewson are entirely believable in capturing and portraying deep affection and adoration for one another, which makes it all the more affecting when their relationship breaks down. Oct 10, 2018 Full Review Chris Knight National Post A subplot that finds Dan obsessing over Hailey's conveniently-left-out diary fizzles, as does the larger question of Franny's crush on Noah. Jun 27, 2018 Full Review Ken Eisner Georgia Straight Their problems are numbingly generic, while the couple's SoCal setting and career aspirations add nothing of special significance to this tale of wandering eyes and untested convictions. Jun 25, 2018 Full Review Liam Lacey Original Cin Though more breezily poignant than deeply insightful, Paper Year has a savvy commercial snap in its portrayal of love coming undone.
